The rain has chased away the sun. And since we are still with family on vacation, we are taking the little ones to the movies.
Hence, I am moving this show to 9PM (EDT). We will create our own sun, so that we can apply the sunscreen of choice of cool, underground vibe.
Introducing: Vibe.
Vibe is a collection of DJ sets all around a core theme or focus. First out of the gate is a collection of tracks that all have Caribbean and Reggae influences that I call Nappy Nature I.
It’s the middle of summer and I am looking to inspire a beach vibe, with a hypnotic, driving beat! I am also attempting to stimulate an air of resistance, and finding joy while displaying such resistance.
There is so much gaslighting going on, this just feels necessary. So, I hope this set finds you and brings you a bit of joy in your corner of the world.

I have resurrected my Contraband Series. I did it on the downlow with a track that was first played for public in my most recent DJ set that was aired on WEAA 88.9FM Audio Infusion show.
My partner and I often trade earworms and this was one of the most recent ones. Not my remix, but the source material. Can you name the original?

Change is often nerve wracking. It complicates things. It can be distablizing. Change is also necessary. It keeps things fresh as there is a renewing quality about it. Change is a part of growth.
I believe there is a saying that is something to the effect of ‘there is no constant but change.’
My previous website iteration had been around for about a decade. That’s a long time in the online world. There are now a host of better and improved tools that I was not using. Of the tools I wanted to, or needed to move on to, many did not integrate well with the way I had set up my old site.
Plus, let’s be honest–it was time for a make over! So, just like it was time to cut my locs last fall, it was also time for this.
I have always attempted to be real, to be authentic, to be true you, to be true to myself, and to do these things while bringing you some of the best in (mostly) dance music, and to highlight those who are attempting to do the same.
There are a lot of posers, just doing it for the fame, types out there. Gotta get that bag right? Yet, I believe that sooner or later, the emptiness, the flatness, of that type of vibe begins to show. And people will move on to the new quick hit–here today, gone tomorrow–if that is your focus.
Money or not, I have only wanted to create lasting memories in the similar way that I have experienced in, around, and because of this music and many of the wonderful people I have met along this journey.
So, yeah, in these ways. I am not changing a damn thing!

I learned a long time ago to lean into what nature puts forth. Similarly in experiencing the graying of my hair, I’m leaning into my experience in tech and music to refresh the look and feel of this site.
In addition to the overall look being a bit more refined like fine wine or aged whiskey, the goal is to provide an updated experience with less friction. Like the electric car that my partner and I got into in the past year, I’m definitely going for a retro-futuristic vibe.
